Delta 8 Dabs Review

March 22, 2021BlogNo Comments »

When it comes to consuming delta-8 THC, you have plenty of options, including dabs. Learn more about delta 8, how to use delta 8 dabs, and how to choose which ones to buy.

What Is Delta 8?

As a quick refresher, delta-8 THC is a cannabinoid naturally occurring in small quantities in both hemp and cannabis. It is similar in structure to delta-9 THC yet different enough to have slightly different effects. Consuming delta 8 can deliver effects similar to delta-9 THC but to a lesser degree, with some people describing it as “weed light.”

Delta 8 is federally legal in the United States, assuming that it is hemp-based. This legality comes thanks to the Farm Bill from 2018. A handful of states have made it illegal, but otherwise, it is legal in the U.S.

What Are Delta 8 Dabs?

As you start to consider how you want to enjoy delta 8, dabs are one option, in addition to vape cartridges, tinctures, gummies, distillate, and other methods.

Dabs are typically sticky oils. You consume them by using a rig to heat the material up and then inhale it through the rig. People have been using dabs to consume delta-9 THC for a decade or more, and it has recently expanded to CBD and delta 8 as well.

Why Use Dabs

Some of the decision to use dabs comes down to personal preference. Perhaps you like the motions associated with it.

Dabs also tend to deliver more potency and help you feel the effects of the cannabinoids more quickly. They are also better at delivering flavor and scents.

How to Use Delta 8 Dabs

Learn what materials you will need and how to dab delta 8. If you are familiar with dabbing cannabis concentrates, the process is identical. The only difference is the concentrate that you use.

The traditional method of dabbing involves a dab rig, which is a water pipe that looks similar to a bong but with a space to attach a nail.

The nail is usually a quartz banger, and this is where you place the concentrate. You can also choose from e-nails, titanium, and ceramic.

You will also need a dabber, which is the ceramic, glass, or metal tool you use to bring your delta 8 dab concentrate to the nail. There are various shapes to choose from, including paddles, spoons, and ballpoints.

You should have a torch of some sort unless you have an e-nail. One option is a mini-torch, like those commonly used to make crème brulee.

You might also want a carb cape, which can help with the airflow.

How to Use Delta 8 Dabs

Start by heating the nail using your torch. You want the nail to be red hot. You should let the nail cool for a few seconds (45 for quartz or 10 for titanium). Then use the dabber to apply your delta 8 dab to the nail. Slowly inhale. If you choose to, use the carb cap to cover your dab as you finish inhaling.

When you are done dabbing and have enjoyed your delta 8, make sure the nail is cool enough before cleaning it. You can scrape your dabber tool or something similar lightly against your nail to get rid of minor buildup.

Another option is to heat the nail using your torch. Just be careful if your nail is quartz or ceramic, as you don’t want the nail to experience sharp temperature changes. Those could lead to it fracturing.

Yet another choice is to soak the nail for around 10 minutes in 91% isopropyl alcohol.

How to Choose Delta 8 Dabs

The process of choosing delta 8 dabs is similar to choosing any other delta 8 product. You want to make sure that you choose a safe product that meets your needs.

Lab Testing

Always look for delta 8 dabs that have independent lab testing. This testing confirms the concentration of the delta 8. It also lets you know that the dab doesn’t have contaminants or other harmful chemicals.

Brand Reputation

In addition to the lab testing, you also want to pay attention to the general reputation of the company that produces the dab, as well as the retailer you are buying it from. The best way to do this is to read reviews.
